Steam

For the last couple of weeks we have been doing our steam fair, Steam is Science, Techongley, Engineering, Arts and Mathmatatics. This slideshow is being presented by Jayden, Ben and Akem and they have been working on What material is the best instualtor what they did is that they Wrapped different materials on plastic cups and they have to check what cup keeps the heat in. The instualtor that kept the heat in the longest was Tinfoil.

So if you want to keep warm in winter wrap tinfoil around you and you will be warm! :D

  3. Hi Mr Hull, this is an interesting experiment. Can you tell me what other materials the class used in their testing about insulators. Also, I am interested to know whether tinfoil kept the temperature constant or whether the temperature went down over time.

  4. Hi Ms G, the group also had insulators made of Newspaper, Bubble Wrap and a Cup with no layer. We discovered that all the temperatures of the cups did go down after 15 minutes. However the cup insulated with Tin Foil stayed the hottest and did not drop as dramatically as the others.
